Key points of mold structure design:

1. Design structure design optimization

Parting surface treatment: According to the geometric characteristics of the blood pressure gauge shell (such as non-closed curved surfaces, screw column positions, etc.), a multi-parting surface design is adopted to ensure smooth demoulding and reduce the impact of the parting line on the appearance.

Slider core pulling mechanism: For lateral holes or semicircular notches (such as sensor interfaces, button holes, etc.), a slider driven by an inclined guide column needs to be designed, and a wear-resistant block is configured to increase the service life.

2. Casting system design

Gate selection: Preferentially use a fine gate to turn to the side gate to feed the glue to avoid the exposure of the gate mark. It is usually set at the lower edge of the window or the non-appearance surface to ensure that the melt is evenly filled .

3. Runner layout: The secondary runner needs to be designed as a planar structure to reduce flow resistance and balance the filling pressure of multiple cavities.

4. Cooling and exhaust system

Heat dissipation design: Embedded copper heat conduction plates (arranged in multiple groups) and heat dissipation fins, combined with fans to accelerate the air flow in the mold, shortening the cooling time by about 20%.

Exhaust optimization: 4-6 oblique exhaust grooves (depth 0.02-0.03mm) are set at the end of the melt to avoid burning or material shortage caused by trapped air


Mold material and processing technology:

1. Mold steel selection

The cavity/core uses NAK80 (pre-hardened mirror steel, hardness HRC38-41) or S136 (corrosion-resistant stainless steel), taking into account high finish and long-term stability.

The slider wear block uses 2510 steel, and the surface is opened with oil grooves for lubrication to reduce friction loss.

2. Precision machining technology

CNC machining: Machining the cavity surface with an accuracy of ±5μm, focusing on the areas prone to mold sticking such as screw columns and bone positions.

Electro-spark machining: used for micro-holes (diameter <1mm) and complex flow channel molding, ensuring dimensional tolerance ≤0.02mm.

3. Surface treatment

Polished to Ra0.025μm mirror grade, medical-grade parts require chrome plating or titanium nitride coating to improve corrosion resistance and demolding performance


Mold assembly and debugging:

1. Ejector system configuration

The ejector block (main force surface) + ejector sleeve (column ejection) + Φ4mm ejector pin (inclined support) combination is used to prevent deformation of thin-walled parts.

The ejector stroke needs to be controlled at 70%-80% of the plastic part height to avoid breakage or residue.

2. Mold test parameter optimization

Holding pressure: ABS material is recommended to hold 60-80MPa to compensate for shrinkage and reduce shrinkage marks.

Mold temperature control: 50-60℃ for the front mold and 40-50℃ for the rear mold to balance the cooling rate and internal stress
