Product Description

Injection Mould For Eyewear Frames refers to a customized mould specially designed for producing plastic eyewear frames (components such as lens rims, temples, and nose pad brackets) through the injection molding process. Its core function is to inject molten eyewear frame-specific plastics such as TR90, PC, and ABS into the mould through precision cavities and gating systems, forming eyewear frame components that meet ergonomics and high dimensional accuracy (tolerance ±0.02mm). Compared with traditional metal eyewear frame moulds (complex processing and high cost), injection moulds for eyewear frames can realize the integrated molding of complex curved surfaces (such as lens rim curvature and temple bending curve) and functional structures (such as hinge mounting holes and nose pad card slots), with high production efficiency (multi-cavity design, single-mould production cycle 15-25 seconds). 1 Core Characteristics of Injection Mould For Eyewear Frames

1. Dimensional Accuracy Control: The inner diameter tolerance of the lens rim is  ±0.02 mm (to ensure adaptation to lens size), the temple length deviation is ≤0.1mm (to adapt to people with different head circumferences), and the nose pad bracket spacing error is ≤0.05mm (to avoid pressing the bridge of the nose when wearing);  the cavity surface roughness Ra≤0.012μm, ensuring the molded eyewear frame surface is smooth and scratch-free without additional polishing;

Curved Surface Fitting Design: The lens rim adopts an aspherical cavity design (curvature error ≤0.5 °) to fit the contour of the eyeball;  the cavity of the temple bending section is designed according to the side curve of the head (curvature radius deviation ≤0.1mm), fitting the contour behind the ear when worn, with uniform pressure distribution (pressure per unit area ≤0.3kPa);

Symmetry Requirements: The symmetry error of the left and right lens rims and temple cavities is ≤0.03mm, ensuring the left-right weight deviation of the molded eyewear frame is ≤0.5g to avoid tilting when worn.

The eyeglass frame is composed of multiple components, and injection molds can achieve integrated molding of some components, reducing subsequent assembly processes:

Integration of mirror ring and nose support bracket: The mold cavity designs the mirror ring and nose support bracket as a whole structure, avoiding the risk of glue detachment in traditional split assembly and increasing the connection strength by 50%.

Hidden sprue design: The sprue is set in non visible areas such as the end of the mirror leg or the bottom of the nose support bracket, and can be assembled without trimming to avoid affecting the appearance.

1. Product Design and Mold Development

(1) Product Design

Structural design: Draw a 3D model of the eyeglass frame using CAD software, with a focus on designing the thickness of the rim, the cross-sectional shape of the temple, the height of the nose support, and adapting to different heights of the nose bridge;

(2) Mold development

Mold material: The mold cavity is made of S136 stainless steel (suitable for materials with high appearance requirements such as PC and transparent ABS) or H13 hot work mold steel (suitable for tough materials such as TR90, with a service life of ≥ 500000 times); The guide column and guide sleeve are made of SUJ2 bearing steel (hardness HRC58-62);

Mold cavity processing: preliminary shaping is achieved through five axis CNC milling, followed by refinement of complex surfaces through electrical discharge machining, and finally mirror polishing is performed using diamond polishing paste;

Cooling system design: The mirror ring area adopts a circular waterway, and the mirror leg area adopts a linear waterway to ensure uniform cooling in each area. The cooling time is controlled within 15-25 seconds.

1. Sports Goggle Moulds

Core Requirements: High toughness, impact resistance, strong weather resistance, adapting to outdoor sports (running, skiing, cycling) scenarios, and able to withstand severe collisions and extreme environments.

Mold and Material Features:

The mold cavity uses H13 hot work mold steel (good wear resistance, service life ≥500,000 cycles), the lens rim cavity is designed with a large curvature (adapting to the facial protection range), and the wall thickness is uniformly 1.5-2.0mm (enhancing impact resistance);

Core requirements: Beautiful appearance (high gloss/matte texture), UV protection, lightweight, suitable for daily travel and fashion matching scenarios.

Characteristics of molds and materials:

The mold cavity is made of S136 stainless steel (mirror polished Ra ≤ 0.008 μ m), compatible with PC transparent material or ABS colored material, ensuring that the surface of the mirror frame is transparent and flawless;

Support dual color injection molding (such as black mirror ring and gold mirror legs), the mold is equipped with a 180 ° rotating mechanism (positioning accuracy ± 0.003mm), and there is no obvious gap at the joint (gap ≤ 0.01mm);

Reserved polarizing lens installation groove (width 2.0mm, depth 0.5mm) in the mirror ring cavity, with smooth groove wall (Ra ≤ 0.4 μ m), ensuring that the lens is firmly installed without looseness.

3. Myopia Eyewear Frame Moulds

Core requirements: Lightweight, high comfort, accurate size, suitable for long-term wear (8-12 hours/day), compatible with lens installation and nose bridge fitting.

Characteristics of molds and materials:

The mold cavity adopts a symmetrical layout of 1 mold and 8 cavities (with an efficiency of 240 pieces/hour), and the inner diameter tolerance of the mirror ring is ± 0.02mm (to ensure compatibility with lenses of different degrees);

Suitable for ABS material (lightweight, single frame weight ≤ 15g), adjustable height of nose support cavity (8-12mm, suitable for people with different nose bridge heights)
