Injection Wheelie Bin Moulding refers to a large-capacity garbage storage container produced by manufacturing core structures such as bin bodies and lids through large-scale plastic injection molding processes, then assembling them with accessories such as rollers and handles. Its core feature is using one-piece injection molding to achieve a seamless bin body (volume usually 120L-240L, some industrial bins up to 1000L). Injection wheelie bins are exposed to the outdoors for a long time and need to withstand extreme environments such as high and low temperatures, ultraviolet rays, rain and snow: the commonly used HDPE (high-density polyethylene) material, after anti-UV modification, can maintain stable performance in the temperature range of -40℃ to 60℃ (no embrittlement at low temperatures, no softening and deformation at high temperatures); after 1000 hours of UV aging test, the impact strength retention rate reaches more than 80%, and the color fading degree is ≤ level 3 (GB/T 16422.3 standard), avoiding material aging and cracking caused by long-term exposure; at the same time, HDPE has a smooth surface and strong water resistance, no leakage or mildew in rainy and snowy weather, and the service life can reach 5-8 years, which is 2-3 times that of traditional metal bins.

2. High Impact Resistance and Load-Bearing Performance, Strong Durability

Bins are prone to collision during transportation and dumping. The injection molding process can improve durability through structural optimization and material modification: the bin body adopts a "double-wall structure" (inner layer thickness 3-4mm, outer layer thickness 2-3mm), with reinforcing ribs (spacing 50-80mm) in the middle, and the impact strength reaches more than 20kJ/m² (can withstand a drop of 1.5m without breaking); the bottom is designed with a thickened load-bearing area (thickness 5-6mm), with a static load-bearing capacity of more than 500kg (adapting to the pressure when the garbage compression truck hook dumps); the edge of the bin mouth adopts a circular arc transition design (radius R5-R8mm) to avoid collision damage during handling, and at the same time enhance the edge tear resistance, no deformation after long-term use.

3. Sealed and Leak-Proof, Environmental Protection and Pollution-Free

The one-piece injection-molded bin body has no splicing gaps, which can effectively prevent the leakage of garbage leachate (such as kitchen waste juice, rainwater mixture): the bin lid and bin mouth adopt a "rubber sealing ring + snap-on closure" structure, and the sealing performance meets the GB/T 19277.1 standard (leakage ≤5mL/h), avoiding leachate pollution of soil and groundwater; the inner wall of the bin body is smooth (Ra≤0.8μm), no depressions or dead corners, and can be cleaned with a high-pressure water gun without garbage residue; at the same time, HDPE material is non-toxic and odorless, meeting the GB 4806.7-2016 food contact standard, and there is no risk of material precipitation even when storing kitchen waste, avoiding secondary pollution.

4. Humanized Structural Design, Easy to Operate

For the convenience of garbage collection and transportation, the injection wheelie bin is designed with a number of humanized functions: reinforced handles (with built-in metal bushings to improve load-bearing) are set on both sides of the bin body for manual handling; 2-4 high-wear rubber rollers (diameter 150-200mm, rolling resistance ≤50N) are installed at the bottom, which can be easily pushed even when full of garbage (the full weight of a 120L bin is about 80kg), adapting to short-distance movement scenarios such as communities and streets; some styles are designed with an "inclined dumping structure" (the bin body and roller axis form an angle of 15°-20°), and the garbage compression truck can easily tilt the bin body by 45°-60° through a hook to achieve automatic dumping without manual lifting, reducing the labor intensity of cleaners.

B、Production Process of Injection Wheelie Bin Moulding

1. Product Design and Mold Development

First, determine the core parameters of the bin according to the use scenario: municipal street bins focus on weather resistance and large capacity (mainly 240L), community bins emphasize flexibility and sealing (mainly 120L), and industrial bins require high load-bearing (500L-1000L). Draw a 3D model through CAD/CAE software (such as SolidWorks, ANSYS), focusing on designing: the double-wall structure of the bin body and the layout of reinforcing ribs (ensuring a balance between rigidity and lightweight), the size of the sealing groove at the bin mouth (adapting to the rubber sealing ring, gap ≤0.5mm), and the roller installation interface (reserving metal bushing holes, tolerance ±0.1mm). In the mold design stage, a large two-color injection mold (integrated molding of the bin body and reinforcing ribs) is used, and the mold cavity size needs to reserve a shrinkage rate of 2.5%-3% for HDPE material; the gating system adopts a hot runner design (avoiding gate residues affecting appearance and sealing), and the cooling system arranges water channels in zones according to the thickness of the bin body (cooling time 20-30s for the 3mm thick area, 30-40s for the 5mm thick area) to ensure uniform cooling without warping. The mold material is S136 stainless steel (strong corrosion resistance, suitable for outdoor bin molds) or H13 hot work mold steel (good wear resistance, suitable for mass production). A single mold can weigh 5-10 tons and needs to be processed by large CNC milling machines and EDM equipment, with a cavity precision of ±0.2mm.

2. Raw Material Preparation and Injection Molding

The raw material is mainly HDPE, and modifiers are added according to functional requirements: anti-UV agent (0.5%-1%, improving weather resistance), antioxidant (0.2%-0.5%, delaying aging), color masterbatch (2%-3%, commonly green, blue, gray, meeting the municipal waste classification color standard). During raw material preparation, HDPE particles are mixed with additives and put into a large dryer (capacity 1000-2000kg, temperature 80-100℃, time 4-6 hours) to completely remove moisture (avoiding bubbles and shrinkage cavities after injection molding). Injection molding requires a large horizontal injection molding machine (clamping force 1600-3000 tons, injection volume 5000-10000g), and process parameters are set: barrel temperature 160-200℃ (front section 160-180℃, middle section 180-190℃, rear section 190-200℃), injection pressure 80-120MPa, holding pressure 60-80MPa, holding time 20-30s, cooling time 30-60s (adjusted according to the thickness of the bin body). During injection, molten HDPE is evenly injected into the mold cavity through the hot runner. After cooling and setting, the bin body blank is demolded through a large ejection mechanism (combination of ejector sleeve + ejector plate), and a small amount of gate residue is manually removed after demolding (the hot runner design can significantly reduce the residue).

3. Accessory Assembly and Quality Inspection

The bin body blank needs to be pretreated first: clean the surface oil with a high-pressure water gun, then polish the sealing groove at the bin mouth (to ensure the sealing ring fits), and tap the roller installation hole (to adapt to the metal bushing). Accessory assembly includes: embedding the rubber sealing ring into the sealing groove of the bin mouth (interference fit to ensure sealing); installing metal bushings and rubber rollers (the bushing is pressed into the installation hole through a press machine, and the gap between the roller and the bushing is ≤0.1mm to ensure smooth rotation); welding or screwing the reinforced handle (the connection strength between the handle and the bin body is ≥1000N, passing the pull test); installing the bin lid hinge and buckle for some styles (ensuring the bin lid opens and closes flexibly, no loosening after closing). Quality inspection is carried out in multiple dimensions:

Appearance Inspection: Check whether there are scratches, bubbles, color differences on the bin body surface, and whether the reinforcing ribs are complete without breaking;

Performance Inspection: Leakage test (fill with water and invert for 30 minutes, no leakage), impact resistance test (drop 1.5m to the cement ground, no breaking), sealing test (pressurize the bin to 0.05MPa, hold pressure for 10 minutes, no pressure drop);

Function Inspection: Roller rolling resistance test (≤50N), dumping angle test (can be tilted 60° smoothly without jamming).

Qualified bins are printed with logos (such as garbage classification signs, manufacturer information), then packaged in batches (wrapped with stretch film to avoid transportation wear), and prepared for delivery.
