Plastic Injection Heat Sink Moulding is a manufacturing technology that injects molten plastic into a dedicated mold through an injection molding process, and after cooling, produces plastic components with heat dissipation functions.

Combining the advantages of plastic's light weight and low cost with heat dissipation structure design, this technology is widely used in electronic equipment, automotive electronics and other fields to solve the problem of heat accumulation in components.

Mold Design & Manufacturing

Design the mold cavity according to the heat sink structure (such as fin density, thickness, heat dissipation channel), and use high-precision processing (such as CNC milling, EDM electrical discharge machining) to ensure mold accuracy, with tolerances usually controlled within ±0.02mm.

Raw Material Preparation

Modified plastics with thermally conductive fillers (such as graphite, aluminum powder, ceramic particles) are selected. Common substrates include PP, PA66, PPS, etc. The thermal conductivity can be increased to 10-50 W/(m·K), while ensuring the material's high temperature resistance (usually requiring long-term temperature resistance ≥120℃).

Injection Molding

Inject molten plastic into the mold cavity at high pressure (50-150MPa) and high speed (50-200mm/s), compensate for plastic shrinkage through the pressure-holding stage (holding pressure is usually 60%-80% of injection pressure), and then cool and shape (cooling time accounts for 40%-60% of the total cycle).

Post-Processing

It includes demolding, deburring (achievable by frozen trimming or laser cutting), surface treatment (such as spraying thermally conductive coating, vacuum coating), and some products need to be assembled (such as bonding with metal heat dissipation bases).
