Demand analysis and part design


Function and Regulations: Clearly define the mechanical requirements of parts such as load-bearing capacity, temperature resistance, and wear resistance, as well as their contact conditions with oil and chemicals. It must be confirmed that it complies with the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) of automotive interiors or relevant safety regulations.


Structural design: When designing, full consideration should be given to the draft Angle and the uniformity of wall thickness, and space should be reserved for the larger shrinkage rate of TPE/TPU. If overmolding is involved (such as overmolding soft rubber on a plastic substrate), a specially designed mechanical interlocking structure (such as holes and grooves) is required to enhance the bonding force.


Material selection and formula customization

Sample trial production and verification


Process debugging: This is the core stage, which requires meticulous adjustment of parameters such as temperature, injection speed, pressure, and cooling time. For instance, TPU must be thoroughly dried, and when TPE is overmolded, a relatively high melt temperature is often required to enhance the adhesion to the substrate.


Comprehensive verification: The samples need to undergo dimensional measurement, assembly testing, functional testing and durability testing.


Small-batch trial production and mass production


Conduct small-scale trial production before mass production to verify the stability of molds and processes, and confirm the connection of the supply chain.


During mass production, first-piece inspection, process patrol inspection and final inspection are required to ensure consistent quality.

Emphasize material drying: especially for TPU, moisture control is the key to success; otherwise, the products will develop bubbles and silver streaks.


Consider the overmolding process: If the part you need is a dual-material structure of "hard plastic + soft rubber" (such as a hard panel with soft rubber keys), overmolding is the ideal process. It involves injection molding TPE/TPU onto an already formed hard substrate, which can achieve seamless bonding, but the process is more complex.

A: Mold Payment: 40% deposit by T/T in advance, 30% second mold payment before sending out the first trial samples, 30% mold balance after you agree the final samples.

B:Production Payment: 50% deposit in advance, 50% before sending out the final goods.
